For Susan abstract painting is the free expression of emotions through colour and texture. This is best shown in her large canvasses where layering, scraping away and glazing produce surfaces that are vibrant and exciting.

For more than 30 years Susan has also been a stone carver. She uses traditional hand tools to create small to medium pieces in limestone.

She grew up in London and now lives in France where she works in an old barn in a wine-making village in the Languedoc.
